69-Days in the New year 2021! [COVID-19]
Today marks the completion of sixty-nine days into the New Year 2021. The lock-down amidst this Corona Virus has seen lives change, now that we are trying to learn and adopt this new lifestyle, I can still remember the quiet roads of Bangalore 10’o Clock in the morning, no vehicles moved, life was a standstill, and the little glimpse we got of the world was to fill our homes with food supplies. To see life standstill and all roads closed leaving the city of Bangalore in silence, the music still rings in my ear of the quiet sweet chirping sounds of the birds, chirping happily, flying about in the open sky, to seeing flowers fall on roads, leaves, and the gentle breeze carrying the fresh smell of the moist air as an Ambulance passes leaving the echo noise of the siren and buses jamming breaks, to the cry of laughter. The city missed the normal life and the infamous Bangalore traffic. Today as all our classes are live and we attend classes listening to lectures like traveling in a lifeboat, everyone’s wearing a mask, gloves, and frequently sanitizing, keeping a distance of six feet, Instructions to not touch any surface unnecessarily ring in my year, I long for a quiet sunny morning where one for can just gaze at the warmth and gentle day. As we leave our homes with our masks on breathing this air, traveling from place to place their lies a learning curve of what mankind has evolved into this new form. The busy roads cover the markings of what the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) left behind, to allow citizens to maintain a distance of six feet from each other, these markings slowly are being embedded into our society, with life not willing to turn back but chooses to march forward into new beginnings, setting new milestones, breaking barriers. Only time can tell about the changes that it witnessed leaving a story for a generation to read, slowly humming to a beat of a song dreaming away into the infinite night sky.
